Essential maintenance work will be carried out on the scrapes throughout September. Work will only take place on some days dependent upon the weather and will be carried out from 1pm onwards to limit disturbance.


There will be access to both side of the reserve, however selected hides may need to be closed during this time.

All Visitors – Advance Ticket Booking and Visit Information


We hope that you and all your family and friends are staying safe and well. We are very pleased to announce that following the latest Government guidance, we have been working hard to ensure that Titchfield Haven Nature Reserve is COVID-secure and have now reopened.


We are now open to all visitors – both members and non-members. To help safely manage the number of visitors, all visitors including members, will need to book in advance online


PLEASE NOTE: The advance booking system ensures we can safely manage numbers of visitors on site, for this reason we cannot allow entry without a pre-booked ticket. 


MEMBERS: All annual memberships have been extended for the time lost while we have been closed. Click here to see the extended dates.


The team has been working hard to ensure it is safe for both you, our visitors, and our staff, and have adopted a phased reopening plan. Please be patient with us as we put new processes in place.




  • The reserve and visitor centre are now open with a reduced capacity and pre-booked online entry ticketing only (link below).
  • Tickets will be available in timeslots. This is the arrival time only; you are welcome to stay as long as you wish, and you can arrive at any time within your ticketed timeslot.
  • Tickets will be on a first come first served basis and all bookings must be in advance online.
  • Tickets will be available up to two weeks in advance and can be booked up until 3pm the day before your visit.
  • As we have reduced capacity, we kindly ask members to not ‘block book’, so that more of our members are able to visit if they wish.

  • The café is open for table service and takeaways and will only be accessible from the café garden.
  • We can accept cash but would prefer card payments, preferably contactless.
  • Hides will have a maximum capacity to ensure visitors can maintain social distancing and hide doors and windows will be kept open, except in adverse weather conditions, to reduce touch points. We ask that you spend no more than 15 minutes in a hide.
  • Please take particular care on the boardwalk, and use passing places (approx. 100m apart). There may be times when you need to go back to let people pass safely.
  • Please observe Government guidelines and signage during your visit, which is in place to help visitors maintain social distancing. Please note that some places have a one-way system in place – this will be clearly signposted.
  • Following the latest Government guidance, visitors should wear face coverings when visiting our bird hides, onsite shop or cafe takeaway area.
  • There will be hand sanitiser dispensers at the gates to both sides of the reserve, however, we encourage you to also bring your own sanitiser for personal use when on site.
  • Please do not visit the reserve if you or any member of your household or support bubble has any symptoms of COVID-19.



If you are driving, please remember to social distance when getting in or out of your car.


As you walk to the main entrance you will see a queuing system in place; please join the queue but be reminded only two people are permitted in the shop at any one time. We therefore ask that any additional family/friends visiting with you remain outside unless they are signing in to enter the reserve. 


Please only arrive at your pre-booked time to avoid unnecessary queuing, and please socially distance from other visitors.


Please have your tickets and membership cards ready for checking. We will not be able to take any payments.


Please be aware the café entrance is currently separate to the shop/reception. To access the café, please follow the path around the back of the visitor centre, the café entrance is through the garden on the east side of the building. Please join the queue and follow the social distancing markings. There is also an accessible entrance and serving point which is signposted.


The toilets to the rear of the building will be open for your use. Please follow the ‘one-in-one-out’ queuing system for the toilets.



On the day of your visit you will need to bring:


  • Your online ticket – a digital version on your mobile phone is acceptable.
  • A suitable face covering if you intend to visit our bird hides, onsite shop or cafe takeaway area, unless you have a legitimate reason in line with Government guidance not to wear one.
  • Your current valid membership card.







How long can I stay on site?

You can stay on site until we close our gates.


What if I miss my allotted time slot?

Please try not to, but yes, please come as soon as you can. Tickets are only valid on the day you have booked for, and are non-refundable and non-transferable.


Can I use my guest pass?

No, unfortunately this will not be possible until restrictions are lifted further.


Can I bring my children?

Yes, if they are a member or under 5, but please ensure they take extra care around other people and adhere to social distancing, particularly when in the hides.


Can I buy food and refreshments?

Yes, the café is open for table service and takeaways.


What cleaning measures are in place?

We have put in place enhanced cleaning measures in line with Government guidance.
