We are delighted to welcome you to the Gardens, please see the information below on how to book your tickets and get the most out of your visit.


Please note – All visitors including members need to book online in advance. 


We have been busy making the Gardens safe for you; our visitors, and our staff so your visit may feel a bit different to what you are used to. If you have any problems or queries, please call us on 01794 369318. We are open daily from 10am – 6pm.(last entry to the Gardens is 5pm)

Before you visit

All visitors including members, carers and all children need to have a pre booked ticket.


Please make sure you book the right date and number of guests, as bookings are non-refundable and non-transferrable.  If the Gardens had to close for any reason, then we will extend your ticket date.


If you have vouchers, please call us to make your advanced booking.


If there is availability, we can sell tickets on the day but it is not guaranteed we will have space, please call us and we can assist you in your booking.


Tickets will be available 14 days in advance.


You can stay at the Gardens for as long as you wish, however the car park gates will be locked at 6pm so you will need to exit the Gardens with time to get back to your vehicle.


Please remember to maintain social distancing and do not visit us if you or any of your household are displaying symptoms of COVID 19.

What to expect when you visit

Arriving at the Gardens

If you are driving, please remember to social distance when you get in or out of your car. As you walk to the main entrance you will see a queuing system in place; please join the queue and please keep 2m apart from other visitors. Please have your tickets and membership cards ready for checking.



We have 2 sets of toilets open, in the main courtyard and at the Tilia tree café. Both locations have accessible and baby change facilities. Please follow the guidance at each location.



We are operating a takeaway food and drink service and have picnic tables for you to use (please note these are not disinfected by us). The ‘munch buggy’ near the main restaurant serves, hot and cold drinks, ice cream, snacks and has a BBQ and other specials of the day (subject to change and availability). The Tilia Tree Café near Jermyn’s House is also open serving, hot and cold drinks, ice cream, snacks, sandwiches, pasties. Please pay by card wherever possible - the munch buggy does not accept cash.


Gift Shop

The gift shop remains closed at this time, but Hillier Plant Centre is open daily until 5.30pm.


Face Coverings

After the latest government guidance, please bring a face covering with you. From 8 August, you will be required to wear a face covering when you visit The Tilia Tree Café, our toilets, Hillier Plant Centre, or any of the indoor buildings on site which may be open (unless you are exempt).


Children’s Play equipment

Most of our play equipment is open – please follow the guidance at each location and note we do not disinfect the equipment.  Please ensure you bring hand sanitiser and regularly wash your hands. Some of the equipment maybe closed for maintenance reasons. If you wish to check what equipment is closed before your visit, please contact us.

Track and Trace

All customers details will be held for 21 days for NHS track and trace. After this date your information will be destroyed.

  • Your online ticket – a digital version is acceptable.
  • Your current membership card and valid guest passes if you are using them.
  • Vouchers / Gift Vouchers.
  • Face coverings.

How do I contact you?

Can I hire a wheelchair?

Yes, we have 3 wheelchairs available to borrow- these are all cleaned in-between use and must be pre booked.  Please call us to make a reservation.


Can I hire a Mobility Scooter?

Yes, advanced booking is essential. Call us on 01794 369318.

Mobility scooter hire is £3.95 for three hours.


What if I want to cancel my Direct Debit, do I still get my 3 months extension?

Yes you do, if you contact us at we will be able to amend the expiry date on your current card by 3 months. Please remember to contact your bank and close your Direct Debit.


Can I still visit Partner Gardens?

During these difficult and unprecedented times, some of our partner gardens have suspended accepting members from other organisations, We would recommend that you contact them in advance to check what their policies are for accepting visitors other than their own members are at the current time. 


How long can I stay on site?

You can stay on site until we close our gates – please check on the day of your visit as closing times may vary.


What if I miss my allotted time slot?

Please try not to, but yes, please come as soon as you can. Tickets are only valid on the day you have booked for.


Can I use my guest pass?

Yes, if you have guest passes, but you must book a ticket for all your guests including children. 


I have lost my membership card, what should I do?

Please contact us on 01794 369318 to arrange a new card. There is a fee for this, and we will process your ticket over the phone.


I have a voucher for the Gardens can I use it?

Yes, but due to restricted numbers, you will need to book your ticket before you come to the Gardens. Please call us to do this on 01794 369318


Are there any catering facilities open?

Yes, we currently have two facilities open daily until 5pm. The ‘munch buggy’ near the main restaurant serves, hot and cold drinks, ice cream, snacks and has a BBQ and other specials of the day (subject to change and availability). The Tilia Tree Café near Jermyn’s House is also open serving, hot and cold drinks, ice cream, snacks, sandwiches, pasties.


Can I sit and eat and drink outside at tables?

Picnic benches are available outside but currently there is no indoor seating available.


Can I bring a reusable cup?

We are sorry but to reduce any health risks, will not accept reusable cups.
